The RSA 60th Anniversary workshop is organised by the RSA
Northern Territorial Representatives:
Ignazio Cabras, North East Branch
Will Eadson, Yorkshire and Humberside Branch
Elvira Uyarra, North West Branch
The Workshop will focus on the distinctive innovation
ecosystems emerging across Northern England’s diverse city-regions, and their
strategies to support inclusive growth within the context of changing
central-local relations. The key themes of the workshop are:
- The changing
dynamics of central-local relations in UK innovation policy
- Tensions and
complementarities between economic competitiveness, ecological recovery and
social inclusion in city region strategies
- The evolving role
of universities as convenors of place-based partnerships
- Cross-regional
learning and knowledge exchange within the North
This event also marks an important opportunity to reflect on
six decades of regional studies scholarship and its influence on regional
development practice.
