This webinar is part of the Special
Issue recently published to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the RSA
Journal Spatial Economic Analysis.
Twenty
years have passed since the publication of the first issue of Spatial
Economic Analysis (SEA).
While there have been radical changes in spatial economics over these two
decades, some aspects have remained almost unaffected. It is thus instructive to
reflect on the similarities and differences between the spatial economic
landscape in 2006 and in 2026, and on the methodological advances that have
surfaced over this period. It is on that basis that we introduce the papers that
comprise this celebratory special issue and that illustrate fundamental themes
and techniques in spatial economic analysis that characterise both present and
future trends.
